Data retention
The organization-wide retention policy lives at Admin → Retention. Leave the field empty to use the system default.
Configurable window
One window, applied to all generations in the organization.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Generations | 40–360 days | How long trace/generation records are kept. Default 180 days. |

Fixed windows
Four windows are system-wide and not configurable.
- Request/response payloads — served for 30 days. Older bodies are no longer opened online and can be retrieved on explicit request to an administrator; the trace keeps its metrics either way.
- Files API — 30 days.
- Code-execution containers — 10 days.
- Coding-agent traces — 30 days, rows and payloads alike. See Developer tools.
note · A shorter org policy still wins
These caps only bound the longer windows. The configurable window above sweeps the same rows, so an organization set below a cap removes that data sooner.
note
A nightly job enforces the row windows; payload storage follows its own lifecycle in the bucket. Note that clients can also opt a single request's payload out of storage entirely with the
X-No-Log header — see Monitoring & traces.
